Digital Humanities

My name is Cris, and I come from Ecuador, a biodiverse country in the middle of the world. I studied Communication and Advertising at the Universidad del Azuay, although I always thought I would end up studying Psychology or Fine Arts. In the end, I found a bit of all of that within my degree, but here’s a confession: I’m here because I’m looking for something that connects me more deeply with art and culture without leaving behind what I already know.

Because of my background, many of the subjects in this course feel familiar to me: digital transformation, multimedia content, and information analysis from a critical perspective. I have mainly applied these in my professional experience as a communicator in advertising agencies, at the Bienal de Arte Contemporáneo de Cuenca, and at the Universidad de Cuenca.

What interests me most now is exploring more deeply how digital transformation can engage with art and culture through new digital tools, and, in turn, applying them to projects within this new European context.
